The 2015 AMCC Women’s Bowling Championship looks to be an exciting one that could belong to any of the four teams. Pitt-Bradford won the inaugural AMCC Women’s Bowling Championship in 2014, but it is Medaille College, with a 7-5 AMCC record, who enters the 2015 championship as the number one seed and the regular season champion.
Freshman Brooke Miller and junior Tallie Papke have paved the way for the Mavericks this season. Miller ranks second in the AMCC in Baker Format Average with 17.8, while Papke is fifth in the conference, and tops for the Mavs, in the Team Format Average with 159. Medaille leads the conference in the Baker Format Single Game Average with 149.
Penn St. Altoona claimed the first AMCC quad match of the season, which came down to a total pin fall tiebreak. The Lions were led by sophomore Brea Suchonic, who posted a 160.3 average and 481 total pin fall in the team matches.
The second AMCC quad match of the season went to Mount Aloysius College. The Mounties’ freshman Katie Gales paved the way in the team matches by finishing with a 565 total pin fall and a 188.3 average. The Mount is tops in the AMCC in Team Format Total Pin fall Average with 715.5.
Pitt-Bradford senior Sarah Foley has been the AMCC’s most consistent performer this season, as she leads the conference in both the Baker Format Average (18.38) and the Team Format Average (193.92). Foley also is tops in the AMCC with her single game high of 253 on October 31 against the University of Maryland – Eastern Shore.
The 2015 AMCC Championship will be hosted by Penn St. Altoona and Holiday Bowl of Altoona on February 7-8, beginning at 10:00 a.m. both days.
