PENN ST. ALTOONA WINS FIRST QUAD MEET OF 2014-15 SEASON
The first two-day AMCC Quad Meet of the season, hosted by Pitt Bradford, came down to a total pin fall tiebreak for Penn St. Altoona to be declared the winner.
The first two-day AMCC Quad Meet of the season, hosted by Pitt Bradford, came down to a total pin fall tiebreak for Penn St. Altoona to be declared the winner.
On Day One of the Team format, Medaille
College and Penn St. Altoona were tied (2-1) in total
wins and losses, but it was Medaille who took the early lead in the
standings based on the tiebreaker of their head-to-head win over
the Lions by a 752-714 margin.
Medaille junior Liz Szpara rolled the
highest 3 game set among all bowlers in the Team format, racking up
609 pins for a 203 average. She also had the single game high
with a 215 vs. Penn St. Altoona.
Day Two of the Baker Format proved to be just as exciting, as Penn St. Altoona tied Pitt Bradford in total wins and losses, but it was Penn St. Altoona who won the tiebreaker, this time based on the overall total pin fall between the two squads (681-556). The Lions posted the highest total pinfall on Sunday, tallying 2,700 pins for a match-best 900 pins per match. The tiebreak total pinfall for the two day event was 1,416 for Penn St. Altoona to 1,394 for Pitt-Bradford.
The next AMCC Quad Meet will take place on January 17 and
18 and will be hosted by Mount Aloysius
College in Altoona, PA.
