MOUNT ALOYSIUS' RAYISSA AMON SWEEPS TOP BOWLING AWARDS
Mount Aloysius freshman Rayissa Amon is the 2016 AMCC Newcomer and Bowler of the Year. Amon led the Mounties to their first-ever AMCC regular season and tournament championship titles with a 21-3 conference mark and 50-25 overall record.
Mount Aloysius College freshman Rayissa Amon is the 2016 AMCC Newcomer and Bowler of the Year. Amon led the Mounties to their first-ever AMCC regular season and tournament championship titles with a 21-3 conference mark and 50-25 overall record. She was a four-time AMCC Bowler of the Week and finished the season ranked first in all AMCC statistical categories. She finished with an 18.5 Baker average and a 191 team format average. Amon also had the team format single game high with a 254 against Coppin State on January 30. She was named to the all-tournament teams at the AMCC Championship, Virgnia Union Invitational and the Kutztown Golden Bear Classic, as well as MVP of the Shippensburg Classic after leading all individual bowlers with a 195.83 average.
Mount Aloysius head coach Barbara Jones has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year. Jones turned around the Mountie bowling program in just her first year at the helm. Mount Aloysius finished the 2015 season in third place with a 19-40 overall record and 6-6 in the AMCC. In 2016, Jones led her team to the progam's first conference title and an impressive 21-3 conferene record.
