MOUNT ALOYSIUS AIMING FOR CLEAN SWEEP OF AMCC OPPONENTS AT CHAMPIONSHIP

Mount Aloysius College swept both regular season AMCC round robin tournaments and is the top seed heading into the AMCC women's bowling championship this weekend. The Mounties will look to take their first conference title after Pitt-Bradford claimed back-to-back titles in 2014 and 2015.
The Mounties (28-12, 14-2 AMCC) lead the AMCC with a 165 Baker format average and an 837 team format total pinfall average. Mount Aloysius freshman Rayissa Amon is tops in the conference with a 190 average in the team format and is second with a 17.9 Baker format average. Right behind Amon is freshman Michelle Magee who is second in the conference with a 172 team format average.
Penn St. Altoona (17-11, 12-4 AMCC) enters the tournament as the #2 seed and is led by freshman Rebecca Amendola. Amendola leads the conference with an 18.07 Baker format average. The Lady Lions rank second in the AMCC with an 805 team format total pinfall average and are third with a 154 Baker format average.
#3 Medaille College (26-22, 10-6 AMCC) will look for leadership from senior and returning all-conference performer Tallie Papke. Papke leads the Mavs with a 16.62 Baker format average and is fifth in the AMCC with a 167 team format average. Papke starred at the AMCC January Round Robin by leading all bowlers with a 179 average and rolled the high score (219) on day one. Freshman Lindsey Foley comes in at fourth in the conference with a 168 team format average.
Two-time defending conference champion, Pitt-Bradford (9-24, 3-13 AMCC), will enter the tournament as the #4 seed. Freshman Erin Fagan ranks fourth with a 17.28 Baker format average and is third with a 170 team format average.
#5 New Jersey City University (4-32, 1-15 AMCC), an affiliate conference member added in 2015, prepares for their first AMCC conference championship. The Gothic Knights are led by freshman Autumn Fortunato who ranks ninth in the AMCC with a 159 team format average.
The 2016 AMCC Championship will be hosted by Medaille College and will be held at Classic Lanes in Kenmore, NY on February 6-7. Saturday's competition, featuring the traditional team format, will begin at 10:00am. Sunday will follow the Baker format, starting at 9:00am.
