Mount Aloysius College claimed victory at the season's first AMCC Round Robin bowling tournament, as they finished the weekend with a perfect 7-0 record.
The Mounties picked up Baker match victories on day one over Penn St. Behrend (162.4-105.2), Hilbert College (164.2-120), Pitt-Bradford (161.4-146.4) and New Jersey City University (163.6-139.2). They continued their dominance on the second day of competition by recording three more victories over Thiel College, Penn St. Altoona (190.2-96), and Medaille College (200.2-178.6). Mountie junior Beth Longer averaged a 17.8 on day one and 19.9 on day two, helping her team go undefeated in the first conference match of the 2017-18 season.
Medaille finished the round robin tournament in second place with an impressive 6-1 record. The Mavs were tied with the Mount after day one with a flawless 4-0 record. On day two, Medaille picked up early victories over Pitt-Bradford and Hilbert, as they headed into the final match of the tournament against Mount Aloysius. Both teams were a perfect 6-0 prior to the deciding match. The Mounties won the first three games over the Mavs, and then it was Medaille taking the final two games. Mount Aloysius held the total pinfall advantage for the series, 1001-893, while also staying on top with a 200.2 average compared to Medaille's 178.6 average.
With a 5-2 record, Pitt-Bradford rounded out the top three teams on the weekend, dropping matches only to Mount Aloysius (day one) and Medaille (day two).
