SAINT VINCENT'S KOEHLER, GUESMAN TAKE BOWLING TOP HONORS AS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM IS RELEASED
Saint Vincent College sophomore Dani Koehler has been named the 2019 AMCC Bowler of the Year.
Saint Vincent College sophomore Dani Koehler has been named the 2019 AMCC Bowler of the Year. Koehler was a five-time AMCC Player of the Week, most among all bowlers. She ranked #1 in the conference in overall scoring average, frame fill percentage, Baker scoring, strike percentage, first ball 9+ percentage, first ball average pinfall, 10th frame Baker scoring average, 10th Frame Baker fill percentage, Baker anchor 10th Frame double percentage, and was the top player in the AMCC in the Player Composite Performance Index. Additionally, she ranked #2 in the conference in single pin spare percentage, "makeable" spare conversion percentage, overall spare conversion percentage, and split leave percentage. She did all of this as a sophomore, leading a team made up mostly of freshmen to a third place finish in the AMCC.
Newcomer of the Year honors goes to Saint Vincent freshman Jessica Guesman. Guesman had a solid first season with the Bearcats, finishing 11th in the conference in the Player Composite Performance Index. She was second on the team in frames bowled and had a strong second half of the year. She ranked #9 overall in the conference in total individual scoring average, including a 7th place effort in traditional games. She was #6 in the conference in overall strike percentage, was 5th in single pin spare conversion and 9th in first ball 9+ percentage.
Medaille College head coach Laura Edholm picks up her third straight Coach of the Year honor. Edholm led the Mavericks to a 13-1 conference record and their third consecutive AMCC championship title, as the Mavs also earned the conference's first automatic bid to the NCAA National Tournament.
