MAVS SEASON ENDS IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

The Medaille College women's bowling team looked forward to today's historic accomplishment of gaining an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament after winning the AMCC for the third consecutive season.

Medaille matched up with #4 Arkansas State University in the NCAA Tournament First Round in the Mega Match format.

The Red Wolves won the traditional portion of the match (960-899). Medaille got some very good efforts from their team as they posted individual scores by Ysobel Conrad (227), Elizabeth Minnard (181), Morgan Walsh (171), Mackenzie Derleth (162) and Carla Hansen (158). It wasn't enough in the traditional portion though as Arkansas St. Had four bowlers eclipse the (190) mark.

The next portion of the Mega Match was Baker Five Match Total Pinfall. Unfortunately for the Mavs, they could not get anything going to build off of the momentum from the traditional portion as the Red Wolves pulled away early and won by a final score of (952-739).  

Mackenzie Derleth led the Mavs in the Baker portion with a (19.4) Baker Frame Average.

The Mavs finish their season with a (60-42) record and were the first AMCC team to every take part in the NCAA national tournament.
