SAINT VINCENT STARTS OUT 4-0 ON DAY ONE OF AMCC ROUND ROBIN #2

Day one of the AMCC Round Robin #2 concluded with the Saint Vincent College Bearcats holding on to first place with a 4-0 record. Pitt-Bradford (4-1) and Medaille College (3-1) each finished the day with one loss a piece.
The Bearcats started the weekend with a match against Mount Aloysius College, and quickly took the lead and never looked back, going on win the game by a score of 881-749. Up next was a game against Pitt-Greensburg, and the Bearcats took the early lead but fell behind mid-game. Down by 20 pins, Saint Vincent stormed back, and strong team finish allowed the Bearcats to pull away to an 859-757 win. In game three, SVC squared off against the host school, Pitt-Bradford, a team that was coming off an upset win over reigning conference champion Medaille. The Bearcats got off to a fast start, opening a 40-pin lead halfway through the game. Bradford fought back, tying the game in the seventh frame, but SVC took advantage of some miscues by the hosts in frames 8 and 9 to hold on for a 10-pin win, 840-830. The final game of the afternoon turned out to be the team's best, as they outscored Penn State-Behrend 910-795. Saint Vincent sophomore Monique Koehler led the team with a 208.3 average over the four matches.
Pitt-Bradford started off the day with a 871-661 victory over Pitt-Greensburg. Their second match of the day was highlighted by an upset victory over the defending conference champion, Medaille, as the Bobcats held on for the 822-773 victory. The Bobcats dropped their fourth match of the day by 10 pins to Saint Vincent (840-830) before winning their final match on day one, as they were triumphant over La Roche University by a score 807-775 . Pitt-Bradford junior Jordyn Graham led all bowlers on the day with a 187.6 average, while sophomore Brookelyn Garvey was second for the Bobcats, and third in the AMCC, with a 178.8 average.
The Mavs took down Penn State Altoona in the first match of the day winning 902-625. In the second match, the Mavericks fell short to Pitt Bradford losing 773-822. The Mavs were able to get back on track against Mount Aloysius with their highest team performance of the day, winning the match 924-762. The Mavs finished the day strong with a 914-673 win over Pitt Greensburg. Taylor Strickland led the Mavs on the day in total pinfall with a 742, followed by Sarah Radt with 716.
