The NCAA has announced the 2022-23 Bowling Championship Bracket. With their automatic bid from winning the AMCC Championship, the Medaille University bowling team will travel to the Rochester Regionals to face their first round opponent, North Carolina A&T State University.
This is the Mavericks' sixth NCAA appearance in a row. The Mavs lost their first round match last season in the Erie Regional to Mount St. Mary's. They came back in their second match to get a win over Bowie State, but were eliminated from the tournament from Mount St. Mary's. Their victory over Saint Vincent College in the AMCC tournament gave them their bid to the tournament. Taylor Strickland, Sarah Radt, and Mackenzie Smith led the way on the day to help bring the Mavericks their victory.
The Mavs have matched up against NC A&T three times in the history of the program, and have lost all three matches. Their most recent matchup was back in February at the James Brown Tournament. The Mavs lost 975-1003. They will look to get their first win against the school.
The team will travel to Rochester, N.Y. on Friday, April 7. The first round will begin at 9:00 a.m.
