WILLIAM SMITH'S MORGAN EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT BOWLER OF THE YEAR HONORS
William Smith College senior Michaela Morgan has been named the AMCC Bowler of the Year for the second year in a row.
William Smith College senior Michaela Morgan has been named the AMCC Bowler of the Year for the second year in a row. Morgan was the top ranked AMCC player in PCPI. She led the AMCC throughout the regular season in overall pins per frame (19.371) and Baker pins per frame (20.343). She finished second in the conference in overall fill percentage (80.7%), overall strike percentage (48.6%), anchor bowler 10th frame average (19.914), anchor bowler 10th frame fill percentage (85.7%) and 10th frame double percentage (25.7%). Morgan finished third in total pinfall (1288) in the second round robin and bowled two 200 games in the same event, a 222 vs. Alvernia and a 203 vs. Pitt-Bradford.
Newcomer of the Year honors goes to Penn State Behrend's Lillie Holt. Holt finished the regular season sixth in the conference rankings with an overall average of 180.6. She was also top 10 in frames filled percentage (80), spare conversion percentage (66.7), and player composite performance index (78.807) during AMCC play. In 46 traditional games this season, Holt led Behrend in total pinfall (8,338) and average (181.26). She made two All-Tournament teams and was named AMCC Bowler of the Week on three occasions
For the second consecutive year, Saint Vincent College head coach Jeff Zidek and William Smith head coach Heather Sterner have been named Co-Coaches of the Year. Zidek led the Bearcats to a 13-1 regular season record, including both the AMCC regular season and championship tournament titles. Sterner led the Herons to an 11-3 record in AMCC play and a runner-up finish at the conference tournament.
