BOWLERS SET FOR AMCC CHAMPIONSHIP THIS WEEKEND

AMCC bowlers will hit the lanes this weekend for the 2025 AMCC Bowling Championship Tournament at Pines Plaze Lanes in Pittsburgh, PA. First round play will open up on Friday morning with #4 Penn State Behrend taking on #5 Hilbert College, and #3 Pitt-Bradford facing off with #6 Pitt-Greensburg. #1 Saint Vincent College and #2 William Smith College will each receive first round byes.
With a 13-1 record in AMCC play, Saint Vincent has earned the regular season title and the top seed in the conference tournament for the fourth straight year. Freshman Mareana Pilyih led the Bearcats in average throughout the season, with an overall mark of 190.5. Skyy Nicholls has been the team's main anchor bowler throughout the season, and is second in overall average at 186.5 including all events. She leads the team with a strike percentage over 42%, and is second in the AMCC in scoring average. Sabine Strickland has been the team's most consistent bowler throughout the season, averaging between 177 and 196 in every event, while her season average of 186.0 is third-best on the team.
William Smith enters the tournament as the #2 seed after going 11-3 during the regular season. Senior Michaela Morgan leads the AMCC in overall pins per frame (19.371) and Baker pins per frame (20.343). She finished second in the conference in overall fill percentage (80.7%) and overall strike percentage (48.6%). Colleen Jump averaged 18.23 in Baker play and 173.7 in the traditional format. She was second in the conference in overall fill percentage (80.7%) and overall strike percentage (48.6%). Caitlyn Anschutz finished the season fourth in the AMCC in traditional first ball average (8.771), seventh in traditional first ball 9+ percentage (62.9%) and makable spare conversion percentage (73.%%).
Pitt-Bradford finished the season with a 9-5 record and the #3 seed in the conference tournament. In her final season with the Panthers, senior Brookelyn Garvey averaged 17.26 in Baker play and 167.1 in the traditional format. Mackenzie Gill ranked fifth in the conferece with an 18.36 individual scoring average. She averaged 180.3 in the traditional format and 18.7 in Baker games.
Also with a 9-5 record against AMCC teams, Penn State Behrend enters the tournament as the #4 seed. Leading the Lions is Lillie Holt, as she finished sixth in conference rankings with an overall average of 180.6. She averaged 192.0 in Baker play and 169.4 in traditional games and ranked in the top 10 in frames filled percentage (80) and spare conversion percentage (66.7). Sidney Batsa sits 15th in the AMCC rankings with an overall average of 156.2. In conference play, she finished fourth in top split leave percentage (7.5) and 11th in spare conversion percentage (57.3).
Hilbert went 5-9 in conference play to earn the #5 seed and their first appearance ever in the AMCC championship tournament. Jenna Angle led the Hawks this seaosn, competing in all 140 frames while finishing 11th in PCPI percentage. She ranks in the top 10 in multiple key statistical categories, including individual scoring average (16.93), strike percentage (36.4%), single-pin spare percentage (83.3%), and 10th frame scoring as an anchor bowler (16.18).
Rounding out the field is #6 Pitt-Greensburg, also with 5-9 AMCC record. The Bobcats are led by senior Kayla Gaughan. Gaughan played in all 140 of Pitt-Greensburg's frames and was top in Baker (16.5) and traditional average (170.7) for her team.
