BEHREND'S HOLT NAMED BOWLER OF THE YEAR AS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM IS ANNOUNCED
Penn State Behrend senior Lillie Holt has been named the AMCC Bowler of the Year. Holt bowled a game-high 267 for the Lions this season and was a two-time AMCC Bowler of the Week. She was named the MVP of the Br. Pat Lacey Tournament, finishing that tournament first with an individual pin total of 969 and 193.8 average. Also named to a pair of all-tournament teams during the season, Holt finished the regular season with an overall average of 189.5 and a Baker average of 19.20.
Saint Vincent College freshman Savannah Douglass is the AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Douglass was named the tournament MVP among 242 bowlers in the Tier 1 Collegiate Shootout (211 average) in December. She was named the AMCC Bowler of the Week following the Hilbert Hammer Classic with a 234 average in traditional play and a 211 in Baker. She recorded an overall season average of 185.1 with 38% strikes.
Coach of the Year honors goes to Saint Vincent head coach Jeff Zidek. Zidek earns the award for the fourth time in his career, and third straight year, after leading the Bearcats to back-to-back AMCC conference titles.
