SAINT VINCENT TAKES FIRST PLACE AT ROUND ROBIN #1
Saint Vincent College came out victorious in the first AMCC Round Robin of the season, hosted by Penn State Behrend at Eastland Bowl in Erie, PA. The format for the weekend was seven sets of five-game Baker team blocks, with total pins deciding the winner of each match.
Saint Vincent went 5-1 on the weekend, with their only loss on the weekend coming in their final match against Hilbert College. The Bearcats scored victories over Pitt-Bradford (853-810), Alvernia University (1007-859), Pitt-Greensburg (953-565), and William Smith College (831-819) on day one of competition. On Sunday, Saint Vincent started out by defeating Penn State Behrend 947-810 before dropping their final match to the Hilbert Hawks. The Hawks got off to a strong start, opening an 84-pin lead after two games. SVC cut into the margin in game three with a 214-180 win, but Hilbert countered in game four with a 202-198 win, before capturing the final game 182-176 for a 941-881 victory.
Penn State Behrend, William Smith, and Hilbert all went 4-2 over the course of two days, but Behrend came out on top in the tiebreak criteria to take sole posession of second place. In head-to-head competition against 4-2 teams, Behrend defeated both William Smith (916-882) and Hilbert (861-808). The Herons split with the two teams, dropping their match against Behrend, but defeating Hilbert 974-850, to take third place. Hilbert dropped both matches to Behrend and William Smith, falling to fourth place on the weekend.
Rounding out the field was Alvernia who came in at 3-3, Pitt-Bradford at 1-5, and Pitt-Greesnburg who went 0-5 on the weekend.
The second AMCC Round Robin competition will take place on February 14-15, 2026. Hosted by Alvernia University, the event will be traditional team format.
