WRESTLING TEAMS GEAR UP FOR AMCC DUALS

Alfred State College is looking for a three peat this year, as they are currently 3-3 in duals on the year with a 3-1 record at home. Senior Elijah Moshenek leads the Pioneers with 15 wins and seven of them coming by falls. Moshenek most recently won his weight class at the Williams Open to start the New Year. Other notable wrestlers are Aaron Johnson with 12 wins and freshman Owen Cummings with 11 wins. Both of them also has sevens wins by fall on the year as well.
Penn College enters the AMCC duals with a 1-0 dual meet record with a 54-3 victory over Penn State Altoona on Nov. 16. The Wildcats have three top-4 tournament finishes and have bested four NWCA ranked tournament teams along the way. Penn College placed fourth at Ithaca Invitational (112.0 points), third at its home tournament (130.0 pts) and a runner-up finish at Elizabethtown's Blue Jay Classic (132.0 Pts). Penn College's lineup includes four NWCA Region 2 ranked wrestlers and two OpenMat nationally ranked wrestlers highlighted by sophomore Kaden Ware who is ranked 19th at 133 pounds in the OpenMat polls. Ware is a returning sixth-place regional placewinner and AMCC bronze medalist with a 13-4 record this season and 46-18 career mark.
Penn State Altoona, in its inaugural season of wrestling as an NCAA sport at the campus, enters Saturday’s AMCC Duals having competed in five events thus far in the 2024-25 campaign. Freshman Andrew Weaver has been one of the Lions’ top performers this season, including posting wins over opponents from Penn College and Muhlenberg.
The Penn State Behrend Lions enter this Saturday with a 6-4 dual record. Behrend won five straight dual matches, including wins over Pitt-Bradford, Hiram and St. Vincent. Rudy Brown, at 157, is 11-1 on the season and 9-0 in dual-meet action. Nolan Fenton, at 197, leads the team with 15 wins and is tied with Zach Dellinger (125) with nine pins.
Pitt-Bradford is off to a 4-8 dual meet start this season under first year coach Zach Altman. They have victories over Rowan, Keystone, Hiram and Elmira. The Panthers are led by a pair of juniors who have been dominant in their third season in Bradford. D.J. Slovick has a 13-6 record at 174, while also winning 10 of 12 bouts in dual matches. Slovick has six pins, two tech falls and one major decision. At Heavyweight, Cameron Carter-Green is 12-4 and 5-1 in dual matches. He also has six pins to go along with one tech fall and two major decisions.
