The AMCC women's soccer Game of the Week features a rematch of the 2014 AMCC championship that saw #3 Penn St. Behrend upset #1 Pitt-Bradford 2-1 in overtime. This year's rematch of the two teams looks to be just as exciting, as the Lions and the Panthers are the only remaining undefeated teams in the conference, both sitting at 3-0.
The Lions enter Wednesday's crucial AMCC contest on a three-game winning streak. Behrend has outscored its last three opponents 17-2. The Lions are led offensively by sophomore forward Olivia Belack and junior forward Alex Bilka with six goals apiece. Belack, the current AMCC and Behrend Athlete of the Week, also has three assists on the team for 15 points. Sophomore defender Gionna Fonseca has helped the back line only surrender two goals in the last three games, while senior goalkeeper Taylor Troyan has started every game and earned her first shutout last week against Hilbert.
Pitt-Bradford heads into Wednesday afternoon's AMMC championship rematch with a 3-0 record in the conference. The Panthers' incredibly tough non-conference slate has prepared the team well for conference action, and Wednesday's game against the only other undefeated team in the conference, Penn State Behrend, should be a great test. Sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Dailey has been magnificent in goal for Pitt-Bradford. The current AMCC Defensive Player of the Week leads the conference in save percentage (.828) and is second in saves and goals-against average. Pitt-Bradford has been getting production from numerous players on offense, as seven different players have scored goals this season. Sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Williams leads the offense with five goals, while senior defender Jamie Christensen and sophomore midfielder Kaitlyn Donnelly have chipped in with three goals a piece. Sophomore midfielder Abby Celesky and freshman forward Grace Dadzaa have two goals each, while senior forward Maggie Boehler and sophomore midfielder Delaney Houtz each have one goal each heading into Wednesday's showdown with Penn State Behrend.
The Lions and Panthers have met in the AMCC Championship game for the last three years. Behrend has posted the same result, 2-1 victory, to claim the conference crown.
