Pitt-Greensburg (6-2-1, 2-0-0 AMCC) travels to defending regular-season and AMCC Tournament champion, Penn State Behrend (4-5-0, 2-0-0 AMCC) Saturday afternoon. Both teams enter Saturday’s matchup holding a perfect 2-0-0 record in conference play. Currently on a two-match win streak and holding a 4-0-1 record in their last five matches, the Bobcats feature a dominant defense that currently leads the conference in both shutouts (5) and goals-against-average (0.76). Junior Kaitlyn Watson and freshman Lauren Yoder, have both seen time in goal for the Bobcats this season and the duo have combined to allow just seven goals. Yoder, the reigning AMCC defensive player of the week, currently sits atop the conference in save percentage (1.000), goals against (0), and goals-against-average (.000).
Not only have the Bobcats put together a dominant defensive performance thus far, the offense also ranks as one of the AMCC’s most potent attacks. Pitt-Greensburg is tied for second with 16 goals and leads the conference with 50 corner kicks. Senior Bri Burgunder leads the Bobcat attack with a conference-best 41 shots and currently ranks fourth in both goals scored (6) and points (14)
After not scoring in four straight contests, the Behrend Lions have exploded for 11 in the last two AMCC games. Sophomore forward Emily Indof has scored six of those 11 goals and added three assists in the pair of wins. She tallied back-to-back hat tricks and had a hand in every goal in a 5-2 win over La Roche a week ago. Freshman forward Brenna McGuire registered her first collegiate hat trick in a 6-0 win over Medaille.
Behrend has won the last 13 out of 14 meetings against Pitt-Greensburg with a three-game winning streak. Last season, the Lions defeated the Bobcats 3-0 during the regular season.
