The Penn State Behrend and Pitt-Greensburg women's soccer teams will face each other on Saturday at 4:30pm in the AMCC Game of the Week. Behrend and Pitt-Greensburg are the two undefeated teams left in the conference
The Behrend Lions are on a four-game winning streak, the longest this season. The Lions have four straight shutouts, including a 5-0 win yesterday over Hilbert College. Five different players scored for Behrend vs. the Hawks. Mia Zec tallied the game winner on a penalty kick in the 17th minute. Goalkeeper Morgan Harding was named the AMCC Defensive Player of the Week for her perfomances last week, as she picked up a pair of AMCC wins, making three saves and getting the shutout against Altoona. Trinity Prestash tallied four goals and one assist for nine points last week. Prestash ranks third in the conference in goals with nine.
The Bobcats have won four in a row, all conference games. Pitt-Greensburg is coming off a 2-0 win over Penn State Altoona on Wednesday. Ashley Lucas and Megan Hickey each scored to keep the Bobcats undefeated in AMCC action. Lucas and Hickey have a combined 30 goals this season. Hickey leads with 16, while Lucas has registered 14 on the season, and has recently became the school's all-time goal scorer. Hickey is tied for 19th in NCAA Division III statistics in goals per game (1.00). As a team, Pitt-Greensburg is ranked ninth in total goals in Division III.
Behrend holds a 20-4-2 overall series record against the Bobcats. The all-time series began in 2000 and the two teams have met in the AMCC Championship game three times. The Lions defeated the Bobcats twice last year, including a 2-0 victory in the AMCC title game.
