Pitt-Greensburg added to their regular season championship with the conference tournament crown and the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament with a 3-2 overtime win over Penn State Behrend on Saturday.
Through the first 45 minutes the score was knotted at 1-1. Pitt-Greensburg got on the board first, as Jenna Conty buried a pass from Ashley Lucas nine minutes in. Behrend responded with a solo effort by Trinity Prestash and the half ended with no advantage.
Lucas netted one of her own on a free kick at the 59:32 mark to give the Bobcats the edge again. As the clock ticked down it was Prestash again with the scoring touch, knotting the game at 2 apiece and sending it to overtime.
In overtime, there was no progress in the first ten, but UPG's Maya Wertelet scored off a feed from Logan Jennings to give the Bobcats a 3-2 lead with under five minutes remaining in the second OT. That would be all they needed to ensure UPG of their second title in three years.
The NCAA selection show will be Monday at 2p when the tournament schedule and pairings will be announced.
