CALVIN SCORES FIRST HALF GOAL TO DEFEAT BEHREND WOMEN'S SOCCER
The Calvin University women's soccer team tallied the lone goal of the game in the first half to eliminate Penn State Behrend from the NCAA Tournament on Friday night.
It was an evenly-played match with each team taking 16 shots in the 90 minutes of play, while Behrend held a 9-6 edge in shots in the first half. The teams played through 30 scoreless minutes before the Knights scored the first and only goal of the game. Mikaela Waroway finished a ball that was sent into the box by Liz Williams in the 30th minute. The goal stood for the final 60 minutes of play but not for a lack of effort by the Lions. Marlene Andrade fired off seven shots and Bri Ross tallied three. Ross had two opportunities in the first half where one was saved by Kalex Dodge and the other was sent just high.
Dodge finished with six saves and Riley Morningstar tallied seven saves for the Lions.
