LADY BARONS CONTINUE RUN WITH 4TH STRAIGHT TENNIS CROWN

Franciscan University claimed their fourth consecutive women's tennis crown on Sunday, defeating Medaille College, 5-0.

With the victory, the Lady Barons earned the right to represent the AMCC at the NCAA Division III national tournament in May.

The Barons swept doubles play, as they quickly took the 3-0 lead out of the gate. No. 2 doubles pair Ana Victoria Hadad and Zoey Stapleton finished first with the 8-1 victory. The No. 3 pairing of Estelle Leon and Haley Davinsizer were next to leave the court with the 8-3 victory. On court 1, Madelyn Conrad and Grace Hammel won the hard-fought top doubles match 8-6 to give Franciscan the 3-0 lead.

In singles play, No. 5 Zoey Stapleton and No. 6 Caroline Picard each picked up the 6-0, 6-0 victories over their opponents to set the final score at 5-0.
