AMCC ANNOUNCES WOMEN'S TENNIS ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
In a three-way tie for the 2025 AMCC Women's Tennis Player of the Year, Penn State Altoona junior Lexi Colaianni, Pitt-Greensburg sophomore Gabi Moder, and Penn State Behrend senior Tamanna Sharma will all be sharing the honors this season.
Colaianni, picking up first team honors at both No. 3 Singles and No. 3 Doubles, posted a perfect 4-0 record singles play, earning wins against Carlow, Penn State Behrend, Mount Aloysius, and La Roche. In doubles play, she was part of a team-best 4-1 AMCC doubles record, with all of her matches happening in the No. 3 spot. They beat opponents from conference schools Carlow, Mount Aloysius, La Roche, and Pitt-Greensburg.
Moder landed on the first team in the No. 1 Doubles position. Moder, along with her doubles partner, went 4-1 in conference play playing at the top doubles position. The only loss was a 6-3 match against Altoona.
Sharma, a first team honoree at the No. 1 Singles spot, only dropped one conference match this season, going 4-1 in the top spot. Overall, she went 6-2 during the regular season.
Penn State Behrend freshman Lexa Maloney has been named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year. Maloney was undefeated in singles play this season, posting an overall record of 8-0 at No. 5 singles. She was also perfect in AMCC play in the same position, while also going 3-0 in doubles competition.
Coach of the Year honors goes to Penn State Behrend head coach Louis Murphy. Murphy led the Lions to a 5-0 conference record and a conference title at the AMCC championship tournament.
