BEHREND'S KAPPELER CLAIMS ALL-AARTFC HONORS IN POLE VAULT
Penn State Behrend senior Madison Kappeler earned All-AARTFC honors for the Penn State Behrend women's indoor track & field team on the first day of the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Indoor Championships hosted by Nazareth. Kappeler finished tied for fourth with Erin Eastwood of Ithaca in the pole vault with a personal-best score of 11-3 ¾ which earned her a medal to and a spot on the All-AARTFC Team. Behrend sophomore Lindsey Hartle ran a time of 19:39.08 in the 5000m for 22nd. On day two, The 4x2 relay team of Madison Kappeler, Brooke Reding, Peyton Grimm, and Ivy Laffan registered a time of 1:52.34 for 20th place. In the triple jump, freshman Rylee Long scored 35-0 1/4 for the Lions. As a team, Behrend finished 30th out of 38 teams in the team standings with 4.5 points.
The Alfred State women's track and field team tallied a few personal best at the AARTFC regional championship meet. Izzy Popoff run a 5:32.75 to shave three seconds off her previous best in the 1 mile to finish in 25th place. Then in the 400 meter dash, Oli Kraynik ran a 1:00.80 to take home 18th place.
