COACHES TAB PENN ST. BEHREND TO DEFEND THEIR CONFERENCE TITLE IN 2014

Penn State Behrend was selected by the AMCC coaches to finish the season on top of the conference and defend their AMCC title in 2014.  Franciscan was voted to finish second and Pitt Bradford likely to take third.

Pitt Bradford’s Taylor McMillen and Medaille’s Simmone Talford have been selected by the coaches as the AMCC Volleyball Pre-Season Co-Players of the Year.

McMillen was an AMCC First Team All-Conference selection in 2013.  She put down 3.26 kills per game to rank second in the conference, along with a 0.264 hitting percentage and 0.67 blocks per game, both which ranked her fifth in the conference. McMillen was named Pitt Bradford’s 2014 Scholar-Athlete of the Year.  Talford was an AMCC First Team All-Conference selection in 2013, as well as Newcomer of the Year in 2012. She racked up 0.933 assists in 2013 (8.11/set).  The team captain also led the Mavericks in blocks with 44 and in hitting percentage with 0.217 on 123 kills. 

The AMCC Championship will be held November 9 at the site of the #1 seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
