PITT-BRADFORD'S PLATZ HEADS WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM
The 2016 AMCC Women's Volleyball Player of the Year is Pitt-Bradford MH Kirsten Platz.
The 2016 AMCC Women's Volleyball Player of the Year is Pitt-Bradford MH Kirsten Platz. Platz played a big role in helping the Panthers go undefeated in conference play, capping the season off with a regular season and postseason championship. The sophomore finished the regular season tops in the AMCC, and seventh in NCAA DIII, with a .411 hitting percentage. She also led the AMCC in blocks per set (0.99), total blocks (97) and solo blocks (46), ranked second in the league in kills per set (3.13), total kills (307) and service aces per set (0.43), and third with 43 aces. in AMCC play, she averaged 3.67 kills per set while hitting at a .420 clip. Platz was the 2016 AMCC Newcomer of the Year and is now a two-time all-conference honoree after her sophomore season.
La Roche College freshman L Hannah Scott has been named the 2016 AMCC Newcomer of the Year and becomes the first Redhawk in program history to pick up this honor. Scott led the AMCC, and was among the leaders in all of Division III, in digs per set with 7.64.
Pitt-Bradford head coach Tom Roof is the 2016 women's volleyball Coach of the Year. Roof led the Panthers to a perfect 9-0 conference record, and an overall record of 23-5. The Panthers were AMCC regular season champions and earned the right to host the 2016 women's volleyball championship tournament, where they also earned the postseason championship title.
