Pitt-Bradford, 2016 AMCC Women’s Volleyball Champion, has been selected by league coaches to repeat as conference champions this season. Penn State Altoona picks up the second spot, while La Roche College is expected to round out the top three in 2017.
La Roche junior outside hitter Laura Nath was chosen by AMCC coaches as the 2017 AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. Nath was a 2016 AMCC all-conference first team selection after leading the conference with 438 kills and 4.38 kills per set. She ranked fourth in the nation in attacks per set, thirteenth in points per set and fourteenth in kills per set. Nath reached double-digit kills in 23 of 26 matches and twenty kills in nine. She was also strong on the defensive side, ranking eighth in the AMCC in digs and seventh in digs per set. She will serve as a team captain for the second straight season.
The AMCC Championship will be held November 5 at the site of the #1 seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
