ALFRED STATE, BEHREND ADVANCE TO AMCC WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
The top-seeded Alfred State College Pioneers and second-seeded Penn State Behrend Lions each earned victories in the AMCC Women's Volleyball Semifinals to advance to the AMCC Championship match, slated for Sunday afternoon.
The top-seeded Alfred State College Pioneers and second-seeded Penn State Behrend Lions each earned victories in the AMCC Women's Volleyball Semifinals to advance to the AMCC Championship match, slated for Sunday afternoon. Alfred State College defeated #5 Penn State Altoona 3-2, while Behrend picked up the 3-1 victory over #3 Mount Aloysius College.

#1 Alfred State defeated #5 Penn State Altoona 3-2 (25-20, 19-25, 25-18, 21-25, 15-12) in the semifinal round of the AMCC Championship Tournament at Orvis Gymnasium in Alfred, NY.
Pioneer junior OH Racquel Gerstenberger and Karleigh Haines each led the Pioneers with double-doubles on the night. Gerstenberger recorded 19 kills and 17 digs, while adding two service aces, two assists, and one block. Haines had 18 kills and 19 digs, while senior MB Keturah Gregory added 16 kills, two digs, two blocks, while swinging at a .262 clip. Junior L Nayomie Ferrer Santiago contributed 57 assists three service aces, and 22 digs in the Pioneer victory.

Penn State Behrend 3, Mount Aloysius 1
#2 Penn State Behrend earned the 3-1 (19-25, 25-14, 25-15, 15-17) victory over #3 Mount Aloysius College in the AMCC semifinals to advance to the AMCC championship match Sunday afternoon. The Lions dropped the first set 19-25, but came back to earn victories in the next three sets.
Behrend junior OH Hannah Phillips recorded a double-double with 16 kills and 12 digs while picking up a .324 hitting percentage. Senior OH Brooke Joncas added 17 kills and five digs, while senior OH Kelli Hoffer added 16 digs.
Alfred State (19-6) and Penn State Behrend (13-12) advance to the AMCC championship match at Alfred State College tomorrow, Sunday, November 6 at 1:00pm.
