The final AMCC Women's Volleyball Game of the Week features Mount Aloysius College at Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon at Behrend's Junker Center.
Penn State Behrend will be celebrating their seniors prior to the match. During their collegiate career, they have helped the Lions to a 53-29 overall record, and an unprecedented 22-2 mark in the AMCC. The seniors have also won two AMCC Championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2019 and 2021. Last time out, the Behrend Lions defeated Pitt-Bradford 3-1 in a battle for second place in the AMCC. Against the Panthers, Hannah Phillips led with 17 kills and 11 digs. The Lions have secured a spot in the AMCC Tournament; a win and a Penn State Altoona loss on Saturday gives Behrend the No. 2 seed and first-round bye.
The Mounties are in a three-way tie for second in the AMCC with Behrend and Altoona at 4-2. Mt. Aloysius' two conference losses were to Alfred State (3-0) and La Roche (3-1). The Mounties have won their last two matches 3-0 against Hilbert and Pitt-Greensburg. Molly Richards tallied 11 kills and 13 digs vs. the Bobcats. Outside hitter Ashlee Parish is ranked fifth in the AMCC in kills (227).
Dating back to 2004, the Lions are 19-0 against Mt. Aloysius, as Behrend has only surrendered six set points in the 19 matches. The last time they met in 2021, the Lions posted a 3-0 victory.
