The Penn State Behrend women’s volleyball team has been selected by league coaches to claim their first AMCC title since 2021. Defending AMCC champion Penn State Altoona is expected to finish in second place, with Alfred State College rounding out the top three.
Penn State Behrend sophomore OH Cadence Jones has been named the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. Jones was the 2024 AMCC and ECAC Newcomer of the Year. She was an AMCC first team all-conference selection in her rookie campaign and was a member of the AMCC All-Tournament Team. Jones led the conference in kills (470), kills per set (4.05) and ranked ninth in NCAA Division III statistics in total kills. She also ranked first in overall points (552). Jones ranked second in attack percentage in conference matches (.310). She finished the season with 14 double-doubles, knocking down a season-best 23 kills against Hilbert and recording a season-high 24 digs vs. Utica. Jones broke the program record for most kills in a season.
The AMCC Championship will be held November 16 at the site of the #1 seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
