DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona OH Lacee Barnhart led Penn State Altoona in digs in each of the Lions' matches last week. In a five-set loss at home to Geneva on Wednesday, the junior recorded a team-high 28 digs. During Friday's 3-0 victory over Penn College, she had a team-best 13 digs while also adding two block assists. On the week, Barnhart totaled 41 digs (5.13 digs per set) and two blocks (0.25 blocks per set).

BEST OF THE REST: Pitt-Bradford L Kayla Maslowski led the Pitt-Bradford defensive effort this week as they went 1-3 against tough competition, as she totaled 72 digs over 16 sets played while adding four service aces and 15 assists...PS-Behrend OH Sara Nobach averaged 4.39 digs in four matches this week for the Lions, tallying double-digit digs in each match, collecting a season-high 28 in a 3-2 win over Geneva, while also adding 12 assists and seven service aces...Alfred State MH Keturah Gregory recorded 10 blocks over the weekend, averaging 0.71 blocks per set and leading the Pioneers to a 2-2 week...Mount Aloysius RS Kiersten Szpala had a solid week, putting numbers in almost every category possible, while her strong suit was on defense, where she tallied six blocks on the week, which was a team-high...Hilbert OH Casandra Thompson put up 61 digs for the Hawks over the past week and was an anchor in serve receive...La Roche DS Sydney Herzer totaled 35 digs this past weekend against the Mounties alone, as her total digs for the week was 54, giving her an overall 4.91 digs per set ratio, while also totaling six aces.
