WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY RUNNERS PREP FOR CHAMPIONSHIP
AMCC cross country teams will head to Cresson, PA this weekend for the 2022 AMCC Women's Cross Country Championship.
AMCC cross country teams will head to Cresson, PA this weekend for the 2022 AMCC Women's Cross Country Championship. Defending champion Penn State Behrend will be looking for their 12th conference title as they single-handedly hold the top-10 6K times of the season.
Behrend sophomore Olivia Nola is the defending AMCC champion and will be looking to defend her title. Nola holds down the best time in the AMCC this season, with a 23:20.1 finish at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble on October 15. But she'll have to get past three-time AMCC champion, and teammate, Behrend senior Savanna Carr. Carr was the AMCC Runner of the Year in 2017, 2019, & 2020 and recorded the second and third top times this season. She finished the Behrend Invitational in 23:30.1 and the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble in 23:35.3. The top six times in the AMCC this season belong to Nola and Carr.
Behrend freshman Lindsey Hartle has recorded the seventh and eighth top times, with her best finish coming at the Behrend Invitational when she crossed the finish line in 24:40.0. Behrend's Megan Swantner and Bethany Litwiler round out the top ten times with 24:58.8 and 25:10.8 finshes, respectively, at the Behrend Invitational.
Hilbert College sophomore Maddie Fusco cracked the top-15 with a 25:42.2 finish at the William Smith College (CCOC) Invitational.
The AMCC Championships will take place on Saturday, October 29 at Mount Aloysius College. The women's race will begin at 11 a.m. with the men to follow at 12:15 p.m.
