BEHREND'S NOLA, CARR EARN NCAA ALL-REGION HONORS
The Penn State Behrend and Alfred State College women's cross country teams competed at the 2022 NCAA Division III Regional Meet hosted by the University of Rochester at the Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, NY.
The Penn State Behrend and Alfred State College women's cross country teams competed at the 2022 NCAA Division III Regional Meet hosted by the University of Rochester at the Genesee Valley Park in Rochester, NY.
Behrend's Olivia Nola and Savanna Carr were named All-Region for their performances. This is Carr's second All-Region accolades in her career. Nola was 17th out of 166 runners in the 6K race, giving her a chance to compete in the NCAA Championships. Nola ran a season-best time of 23:15.4, and will compete in the NCAA Championships on Saturday in Lansing, Michigan hosted by Olivet College. The event is set to begin at 11 a.m. at Forest Akers East Golf Course on the campus of Michigan State University.
Carr was second on the team and placed 20th with a time of 23:27.0, also a season-best time. Lindsey Hartle ran 25:28.4 for the race to take 77th overall, while Bethany Litwiler finished 90th overall with a time of 26:14.5. Ivy Laffan had the final time that registered a score, as she came in 96th with a time of 26:33.3. The Behrend Lions ran to a 12th place finish.
Alfred State's Sarah Rivet led the Pioneers with a 110th place finish. She crossed the finish line in 26:59.5. Laura Ferris was 130th (28:16.0), Andi Williamson was 132nd (28:16.9), Summer Kier was 139th (29:45.8), and Annaliese Hersom rounded out the Pioneers top five with a 147th place finish (31:22.2).
