AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR FEBRUARY 27-MARCH 5
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of men's volleyball, baseball, tennis, and women's softball for the period running from February 27-March 5, 2023.

Men's Volleyball (Offensive): Geneva MB Byron Spear had a career-high 22 kills (5.50 k/s), while hitting .364, in a four-set win over Penn State Altoona on Saturday. For the week he led Geneva to three AMCC wins, finishing with 44 kills (4.40 k/s) on a .309 hitting percentage, while adding 13 digs, four blocks and four aces. He averaged 5.0 points per set on the week.
Men's Volleyball (Defensive): PS-Behrend OH Owen Wienczkowski tallied 11 total blocks, 10 assist and one solo in a 3-1 week for the Lions. He also added six digs, two service aces and 28 kills. Wienczkowski tallied five block assists vs. Drew on Saturday.
Baseball (Player): Pitt-Greensburg P/OF James Domer has been a key part to Pitt-Greensburg's fast start, as the Bobcats have started out their season 4-1. Domer batted .550 through five games with 12 RBI and nine runs scored. He best game of the week was a 4-for-4 performance against Martin Luther, which included a home run and a double to go with six RBI and four runs scored.
Baseball (Pitcher): Pitt-Greensburg FR Nathan Mankoski set a school record for strikeouts with 15 and pitched a no-hitter against Martin Luther. It was the first no-hitter in program history.
Softball (Player): Pitt-Bradford OF Chloe Cordova has gotten off to a hot start this spring, hitting .538 with six RBI and seven runs scored through four games. In two wins on the Panthers first day in Florida, Cordova went a combined 5-for-7 with four RBIs, four runs scored and a pair of XBHs. She also had four outfield assists in the games.
Softball (Pitcher): PS-Altoona SO Madison Peters had a great first collegiate start in the pitching circle for Penn State Altoona in the Lions' season-opening win over Martin Luther in the Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic. The right-hander tossed a complete game for the victory, going seven innings and allowing just one run, two hits, and three walks while striking out seven batters.
