AMCC ANNOUNCES ATHLETES OF THE WEEK FOR MARCH 9-15, 2026
The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) has announced its Athletes of the Week selections in the sports of baseball, softball, and women's lacrosse for the period running from March 9-15, 2026.
Baseball (Player): PS-Altoona 1B Jonathan Rauch had a big week at the plate to help the Lions go 4-2 across their final six games in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational, having three multi-hit games and collecting 17 total bases. In a total of six contests versus Thomas, Penn State Abington, Gordon, Fredonia, and Calvin, the senior hit .619 (13-for-21) with nine runs scored, five RBI, three walks, two stolen bases, one double, and one home run. The senior had a .680 on-base percentage and slugged .810.
Baseball (Pitcher): La Roche FR Kade Sell picked up his first complete game of his collegiate career, as the freshman was strong on the hill in his lone start of the week. In a 6-2 win over Penn College, Sell put together the complete game effort, allowing two runs, five hits and struck out 10 for his first collegiate victory.
Softball (Player): PS-Altoona OF Riley Best had a big week at the plate and in the circle for the Lions, who capped off their Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic trip by going 6-2 across their last eight games. The junior combined to hit .462 (12-for-26) with 15 RBI, 12 runs scored, four doubles, four walks, one triple, one home run, and one stolen base. Best compiled a .548 on-base percentage and a .808 slugging percentage while collecting 21 total bases. In the circle, she went 2-0 with a 1.14 ERA. In a win over Mitchell, she got the start and finished with a no-decision after going three innings and allowing just one run on two hits and three walks with one strikeout. The junior came into Wednesday's win over Martin Luther in relief to pick up the victory, tossing 2 1/3 spotless innings in her appearance. Best then got the start and pitched a complete game in Thursday's win over Valley Forge, yielding only two hits, one run, and no walks while striking out 11 batters. On the week, Best was 2-0 with a 1.14 ERA and a .57 WHIP while pitching 12 1/3 innings and striking out 12 batters.
Softball (Pitcher): Hilbert JR Kimberly Bentley recorded a 3-2 record in the circle, appearing in six of eight games for the Hawks. Two of her three wins were complete games, as she compiled 21.2 innings of work on the week, striking out six and walking seven.
Women's Lacrosse (Offensive): Pitt-Bradford M Addison Molampy had a big week for Pitt-Bradford as the Panthers went 3-0 in a Spring Break trip to North Carolina. Molampy tallied 14 goals and eight assists over the three contests. She was also highly efficient, taking 23 shots, while putting 20 on target. She also caused four turnovers and picked up six ground balls. In the win over Warren Wilson, she totaled seven goals and four assists.
Women's Lacrosse (Defensive): Pitt-Bradford D Makartnee Mortimer spearheaded a Pitt-Bradford defense that picked up three wins on their Spring Break trip to North Carolina. She collected 15 ground balls over the three games, while also causing seven turnovers.
